Chairman of the board
Anders Onarheim has extensive knowledge of management, business development and capital markets after serving as the chief executive of companies in the Carnegie Group investment bank for more than 16 years.
He has previously worked internationally with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, and has held several directorships at various investment firms. Onarheim holds an MBA from Washington University in St Louis. He currently has directorships and senior management positions at AB Investment AS, Spitsbergen AS, Reach Subsea ASA, chair of the board at Arkipel AS, Solstad Offshore ASA and BW LPG Ltd. Onarheim is a Norwegian citizen resident in Bærum.
Mr. Onarheim was elected to the board 13 February 2014 and was elected chairman 3 November 2014. The total number of shares beneficially owned by Onarheim, indirect and direct through AB Invesment AS and Liju Invest AS is 17,667,721, which equals 14.84% ownership in North Energy ASA.
Elin Karfjell qualified as a state-authorised auditor at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). She has boardroom experience from such companies as Norse Energy Corporation, Aker Floating Production ASA, Aktiv Kapital, Aker American Shipping, Hent AS and Ernst & Young.
Karfjell is a Board Member of Aker Philadelphia Shipyards ASA, Sevan Drilling Ltd., Contesto AS and Idrettens Helsesenter AS. She chairs the nomination committee for the BI Norwegian Business School. She has been a partner at Ernst & Young, and vice president finance and administration at Ementor Norge AS (now Atea). Karfjell was chief operating executive of Fabi Group from 2008 to 2013. She is now Managing Partner of the consulting business Atelika AS. Karfjell was elected to the board of North Energy ASA 25 April 2014 and owns 267,700 shares in the company through Elika AS.
Jogeir Romestrand has been in the oil service business for 30 years, holding various senior positions which include several directorships. He is the founder and chair of the privately owned Norwegian investment group Rome AS.
His current directorships and senior management positions include chair and founder of Impact Engineering AS, director of Eco Stim Energy Solution Inc, chair of the nomination committees of EMGS ASA and Havila ASA, and director and chair of Neptune Offshore. Romestrand is a Norwegian citizen resident in Ulsteinvik. Romestrand was elected to the board 13 February 2014 and owns 1,300,000 shares through the Rome AS company.
Johan Bjerka holds a M.Sc. (econ) from Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki and a cand.mag. (law) from University of Oslo. Bjerka has been working for North Energy since 2011, first as Business Development Advisor and since 2013 as Business Development Manager.
Bjerka has more than 14 years of experience from various positions within finance, commercial and business development from Shell, Engie (GDF SUEZ) and Lemminkäinen. Bjerka is a Norwegian citizen and a resident of Sandnes, Norway.
Knut Sæberg was hired as the CFO of North Energy in March 2009 and became the CEO of the company in October 2014.
Prior to North Energy, Sæberg worked in Optimera Gruppen as CFO, primarily focusing on restructuring, acquisitions and the divestment of businesses. Prior to this Sæberg has been CFO for NMD ASA and was important in the company’s reorganisation in the wake of the deregulation of the pharmaceutical market. From 1984 to 1995 he held various positions at Shell, working directly with the establishment of the finance organisation for the Troll project. Sæberg has a Msc in Economics and Business Administration (Siviløkonom) from Kristiansand in 1984. Sæberg owns 768,822 shares in the company.
