Chairman of the board
Anders Onarheim has extensive knowledge of management, business development and capital markets after serving as the chief executive of companies in the Carnegie Group investment bank for more than 16 years.
He has previously worked internationally with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, and has held several directorships at various investment firms. Onarheim holds an MBA from Washington University in St Louis. He currently has directorships at AB Investment AS, DHT Holdings, Inc, Reach Subsea ASA and BW LPG Ltd. Onarheim is a Norwegian citizen resident in Bærum.
Mr. Onarheim was elected to the board 13 February 2014 and was elected chairman 3 November 2014. The total number of shares beneficially owned by Onarheim, indirect and direct through AB Invesment AS; Spitsbergen AS and Liju Invest AS is 22,378,465, which equals 18.8% ownership in North Energy ASA.
Elin Karfjell qualified as a state-authorised auditor at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). She has boardroom experience from such companies as Norse Energy Corporation, Aker Floating Production ASA, Aktiv Kapital, Aker American Shipping, Sevan Drilling Ltd., Hent AS and Ernst & Young.
Karfjell is a Board Member of DNO, Aker Philadelphia Shipyards ASA, Contesto AS and Idrettens Helsesenter AS. She has been a partner at Ernst & Young, CFO at Ementor Norge AS (now Atea), chief operating executive of Fabi Group, Managing Partner of the consulting business Atelika AS and CFO at Statsbygg. As of today, she holds the position as Executive Vice President Property Management at Statsbygg.
Karfjell was elected to the board of North Energy ASA 25 April 2014 and owns 267,700 shares in the company through Elika AS.
Jogeir Romestrand has been in the oil service business for 35 years, holding various senior positions which include several directorships. He is the founder and chair of the privately owned Norwegian investment group Rome AS.
He is currently CEO of Evotec AS, board member of Entec Group AS and of Havila Shipping ASA.
Romestrand is a Norwegian citizen resident in Ulsteinvik. Romestrand was elected to the board 13 February 2014 and owns 1,300,000 shares through the Rome AS company.
Knut Sæberg was hired as the CFO of North Energy in March 2009 and became the CEO of the company in October 2014.
Prior to North Energy, Sæberg worked in Optimera Gruppen as CFO, primarily focusing on restructuring, acquisitions and the divestment of businesses. Prior to this Sæberg has been CFO for NMD ASA and was important in the company’s reorganisation in the wake of the deregulation of the pharmaceutical market. From 1984 to 1995 he held various positions at Shell, working directly with the establishment of the finance organisation for the Troll project. Sæberg has a Msc in Economics and Business Administration (Siviløkonom) from Kristiansand in 1984. Sæberg owns 972,352 shares in the company.
