Chairman of the board
Anders Onarheim has extensive knowledge of management, business development and capital markets after serving as the chief executive of companies in the Carnegie Group investment bank for more than 16 years.
He has previously worked internationally with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, and has held several directorships at various investment firms. Onarheim holds an MBA from Washington University in St Louis. He currently has directorships at AB Investment AS, DHT Holdings, Inc, Reach Subsea ASA and BW LPG Ltd. Onarheim is a Norwegian citizen resident in Bærum.
Mr. Onarheim was elected to the board 13 February 2014 and was elected chairman 3 November 2014. The total number of shares beneficially owned by Onarheim, indirect and direct through AB Invesment AS; Spitsbergen AS and Liju Invest AS is 24,232,047, which equals 20.36% ownership in North Energy ASA.
Elin Karfjell qualified as a state-authorised auditor at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). She has boardroom experience from such companies as Norse Energy Corporation, Aker Floating Production ASA, Aktiv Kapital, Aker American Shipping, Sevan Drilling Ltd., Hent AS and Ernst & Young.
Karfjell is a Board Member of DNO, Aker Philadelphia Shipyards ASA, Contesto AS and Idrettens Helsesenter AS. She has been a partner at Ernst & Young, CFO at Ementor Norge AS (now Atea), chief operating executive of Fabi Group, Managing Partner of the consulting business Atelika AS and CFO at Statsbygg. As of today, she holds the position as Executive Vice President Property Management at Statsbygg.
Karfjell was elected to the board of North Energy ASA 25 April 2014 and owns 407,700 shares in the company through Elika AS.
Jogeir Romestrand has been in the oil service business for 35 years, holding various senior positions which include several directorships. He is the founder and chair of the privately owned Norwegian investment group Rome AS.
He is currently CEO of Evotec AS, board member of Entec Group AS and of Havila Shipping ASA.
Romestrand is a Norwegian citizen resident in Ulsteinvik. Romestrand was elected to the board 13 February 2014 and owns 1,440,000 shares through the Rome AS company.
Rachid Bendriss was hired as the co-CEO of North Energy in January 2022.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Bendriss has since 2016 served as an advisor to North Energy, supporting the company in developing and implementing its strategic turnaround. He has extensive research, advisory and transaction experience from 18 years in the investment banking industry, with companies such as Morgan Stanley, Danske Bank and Carnegie. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Reach Subsea ASA and as Board Member of Wind Catching Systems AS. Bendriss has a MsC in Economics and Business Administration (Siviløkonom) from the Norwegian School of Management (BI) from 1994.
The total number of shares beneficially owned through Celisa Capital AS is 11,891,726, which equals a 9.99% ownership in North Energy ASA.

Didrik Leikvang was appointed as co-CEO of North Energy ASA in December 2021 having previously been a strategic and financial advisor to the company since 2016.
Mr. Leikvang has worked as an independent advisor and investor since 2012. He has significant knowledge of financial investments with key focus areas being energy, industrials and basic materials. He has previously worked with UBS in London and Carnegie in Norway in various roles, including investment research and investment banking. Mr. Leikvang holds a BSc in Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Mr. Leikvang is a Norwegian citizen resident in Oslo.
The total number of shares owned by Mr. Leikvang directly, and indirectly through his wholly owned company Isfjorden AS, is 9,938,290, which equals 8.35% ownership in North Energy ASA.
