North Energy was founded in 2007. In 2008, the company was pre-qualified as license owner on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), and the year after as operator.
In 2010, North Energy was listed on Oslo Stock Exchange.
Over the years, the company has done well in the licensing rounds, and has in the past been represented in several licenses along the NCS.
In 2016 the company were restructured and North Energy ASA became a holding company with an investment portfolio mainly focused on the energy sector.
In 2017 the board of North Energy decided to discontinue its petroleum operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) and to liquidate North E&P.
In 2018 the Company stands forward as an industrial investment company, based on active ownership, and with a growing portfolio of investments.
