Company History

North Energy was founded in 2007 with headquarter in Alta, Finnmark. In 2008, the company was pre-qualified as license owner on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), and the year after as operator.

In 2010, North Energy was listed on Oslo Stock Exchange on the Axess-list with ticker “North”.

In the period from 2010 to 2015, North Energy participated in 15 exploration wells on NCS. This resulted in 5 discoveries, including gas condensate in PL 433 Fogelberg with production scheduled to start in 2020.

In 2015 the company started a restructuring process with head office being re-located to Oslo. Furthermore, in 2016 North Energy ASA became a holding company with an investment portfolio mainly focused on the energy sector, and in 2017 North Energy decided to discontinue its petroleum operations on the NCS.

The Company stands in 2022 forward as an industrial investment company, based on active ownership, and with a growing portfolio of investments.
